# Admission record: G2 to G4 (Spells 146, 144, 147 and the Nu conclusion of 125)

Package: Astra, bod-world-sources-v2.1.zip, 2026-10-06. Archive SHA-256 e27e3661f22478925f81839ca1f59d2e4f10e8c1d597c21dabf9a572ab315be6 (matches the supplied checksum). Manifest: 65 of 65 files verified.

Statements: 105 (G2 44, G3 37, G4 24); by status 44 agreed, 32 single-witness, 29 contested. Every status is Astra's and unchanged. Astra's instruction on scope was followed: admission is by statement id, and nothing in sources.json replaces the G1 record.

## Checks before admission

- Facsimile. The 19 pages of evidence/Budge1898-II-G2-G4-facsimile.pdf (printed pp. 196 to 201, 240 to 243, 253 to 261) were read page by page against the transcriptions: Nu I to XIV and Heru-em-khebit XV to XXI, the p. 256 note on Ani's ten pylons, fourteen shrines, three hundred and fifty measures, pylon VI's unknown height and breadth, the seven rosters of Spell 144 and the seven of 147 with their head sequences, the rubric quantities of 144, the Thenna rubric, the door parts of 125 with the Nu Guardian footnote, and the Nu attribution on p. 196. Page 257 was read from the image, as the package warns.
- Renouf and Naville 1904. RN1904 quotations: 94; found verbatim: 94; on the cited page: 93. Found with the printed page markers of the Gutenberg transcription; the one quotation flagged off-page ("the dark sky, the black sky", note 8 to Spell 144) is on p. 292, where the transcriber's correction markup splits the phrase.
- Budge 1895, the Papyrus of Ani. B1895-ANI quotations: 12; found in the study corpus: 12: Ani's ten pylons and the vignette descriptions are the study's own text.
- Budge 1895, interlinear and appendix (G4-ii). The Internet Archive text layer of Budge 1895 holds every interlinear string the package cites, on the pages claimed; the line numbers the package gives do not match this copy of the text layer (the strings sit about 1,280 lines later), so the lines are recorded here afresh. Nebseni 16 and 32 fall under the p. 350 header: the package is right and the brief's p. 351 was wrong. Interlinear strings: an t'au - a (p. 198, line 28500); teh -a (p. 199, line 28599); an metmet -a (p. 200, line 28627); an nek -a hemt /a (p. 200, line 28641); an nek-d hemt t'a (p. 200, line 28645); an teh - a (p. 201, line 28661); an semetmet - a (p. 201, line 28699); an dri - a (p. 202, line 28751); committed theft (?) (p. 202, line 28765). Nebseni: Strider p. 350; Sekheriu p. 350. Running English: (3) p. 347, (14) p. 348, (17) p. 348, (20) p. 348, (21) p. 348, (24) p. 348, (31) p. 349, (38) p. 349.
- Facsimile crops. The four paired crops from sheets 31 and 32 were inspected: 3 and 38 differ in their sign groups; 14 and 24 repeat the same core group; 31 carries an extra sign below the red negation; 21 ends with an extra bird sign.
- Not done here: no Egyptian text was read; no copyrighted modern translation was consulted; no witness beyond those Astra names was searched.

## Decisions by class

- **already** (26): already modelled from Ani's own text or Budge's 1895 description; the witness adds its citation
- **outline** (16): drawn as an outline pylon with its label (geometry in the witness colour)
- **card** (45): evidence-card text only: utterances, rubrics, riddles and readings that fix no geometry
- **lead** (2): an editor's lead recorded for the open unit questions; nothing adopted
- **label** (12): carried as text on a label in the model
- **annotation** (4): a note on the study's text; no model change

Statuses on the ledger's features follow one rule, applied to every feature that carries statement ids (the G1 features included): A feature that gathers several statements takes the weakest status among them: contested if any is contested, otherwise single-witness if any is, otherwise agreed; where a feature's own text records a differing reading that no numbered statement covers, it is contested and says so. Its text names the parts that differ. Checked for 36 features with G2 to G4 statements; all conform.

## Discrepancies found on review

- G3-144-THREE-ROLES, name: the package has "Aken-tau-keha-kheru"; verified "Aken-tau-k-ha-kheru". Budge 1898, vol. II, p. 241 (facsimile page 8); the package transcription G3-budge1898-144.txt and arits-rosters.json carry the first form. The ledger and the model use the printed form.
- G3-147-02-HEADS, page: the package has "259"; verified "258". The second Arit's vignette is printed at the foot of p. 258 (facsimile page 16); p. 259 opens with its text. The ledger cites 258.
- G4-ii (all four), line: the package has "text-layer lines 27224 to 27473"; verified "lines 28500 to 28765 in the Internet Archive text layer downloaded 2026-10-06". Content and pages match; the line locators do not reproduce.

A fresh second check of the admission (a separate agent reading the sources) found thirteen points, all taken: the two discrepancies above, the wording of the closing formula of pylons XIX to XXI, missing citations on the confession feature, the division of the 1904 translation between Renouf (through Spell 139) and Naville (from Spell 140), the status rule above, and the classes of three statements whose passwords sit on the card rather than on a label.

## Open after this tranche

- The Egyptian word behind "measures" at Aat IV (Spell 149) and at pylon IX (Spell 146): unidentified; Lepsius's forty-cubit schoinion in Naville's note 5 (p. 296) is a lead, not a conversion.
- Spell 147 in the Papyrus of Nu: not located in Budge 1898 (the English volume, and the Nu inventory and contents of the hieroglyphic volume) or in Renouf and Naville 1904; the wider public-domain corpus is unsearched.
- The damaged noun at Ani 38 in the 1895 interlinear; the printed 1895 interlinear pages themselves were not retrieved by Astra (the Heidelberg scan refused the requests) and were not inspected here.
- An independent direct translation of the eight Ani clauses of G4-ii: Renouf's edited list is the only second translation read, and it is cross-manuscript.
- The Egyptian wording behind the door parts of Spell 125 (bolts or leaf, lintels or posts, socket or latch, elbow or knee): the two translators are not reconciled.
